Cozmo:
Open sushi @cozmocafe zeytuna bey (and abc ashrafieh) daily for 155 000 LL/person. Conveyor belt sushi, but pieces are usually freshly prepared on the spot. Probably the most expensive open sushi formula currently, but overall you receive what you pay for. Total score: 8/10 (visit was anonymous). However it might be inconsistent.
Pros :
+ Good quality imported Norwegian salmon. Exact same salmon used in sashimi and inside maki rolls.
+ Fresh ingredients. Shrimp 🦐, crab, avocado, mango..
+ Little rice in pieces (something you don’t find in open sushi these days). Some offered pieces were even riceless.
+ Generous and special ingredients. Told the chef we preferred salmon and shrimp, she made almost all pcs with salmon and shrimp and little crab.
+ Rich formula: includes crab salad, 9 sashimi pieces, and a desert (fondant in last pic)
+Friendly staff and ambience
Cons :
-+Most expensive open sushi currently, but you generally get what you pay for.
– The salmon is great quality, but temperature and storage can be better to maintain a better texture
– The salads aren’t that tasty. Told the chef to make 9 sashimi salmon as salmon salad, it was a little plain.
– Some riceless pieces with the nori wrap were a bit fishy; probably from the nori.
– Cheese or philly cheese not included in open sushi.
– Might be inconsistent, received many bad feedback about some experiences.
Conclusion:
: Overall very tasty and good quality sushi. Note that another expensive open sushi formula, that’s only currently 20 000 LL less than this one, includes mostly local salmon/trout. That’s why you get what you pay for at cozmo. Recommended.
