Mitsu-Ya – Jemmayzeh @mitsuyabeirut

Found this place randomly and decided to try it. A bit more expensive than regular places but turned out to be one of the best sushi places in the area.

Pros:

Excellent quality and fish storage. The food temperature and freshness was ideal. The fish tasted just right. We ordered Carpaccio Sea Bass salad and Marinated Salmon salad. Both were super fresh marinated in delicious sauces. (Sea Bass fish has a bit stronger taste in its nature). The sushi (nigiri) were mouth melting, especially the Hamachi (white fish 🐟). The mixed mushrooms hot dish was really tasty. Some side items were actually surprisingly affordable (steamed rice for 3 000 LL, small water for 2 000 LL).

Cons:

The pricing as mentioned is a bit more expensive than other restaurants. They position themselves as offering a high end authentic Japanese experience (a bit “over positioning” in my opinion) and don’t offer the usual set mixed platters. They also don’t offer a variety of Ura Makis (only a couple choices), and those are served in very small portions. Paid around 55$-60$ per person.

Conclusion: if you’re looking for a delightful high quality sushi meal, you need to give this place a try.
